Animal Care - Apply Here

Are you wanting to be a little more hands on with animals? Can you spare a few hours on a weekly basis to come and help with mucking out, feeding time, socialising, grooming and other animal care duties? We're looking for confident, reliable and dedicated volunteers to help out with the animals at the Centre. Animal Care volunteers must be 18 years or older to apply for this role.

Charity Retail Assistant - Apply Here

We are in need of people to donate their time to help within one of our seven charity shops. The role will consist of serving customers, arranging and restocking, and sorting donations. We would love bright and friendly faces to join our teams in Alvaston, Belper, Carsington, Chaddesden, Long Eaton, Ripley & Wirksworth!


Community Fundraising - Apply Here

Do you want to spread the word about our Centre and our wonderful animals? Help us by becoming a Community Fundraiser which will see you positioned around the Derby area collecting donations for our animals. We would love for confident and friendly people to apply for this role, who aren’t afraid to get stuck in and talkative with strangers! Age requirement is a minimum of 18 years old.

DIY & Maintenance - Apply Here

Are you great at DIY and Maintenance? We are looking for people who can help out around the Centre & Shops for maintenance and DIY on an adhoc basis, so someone who is flexible rather than on a regular basis would be ideal for when jobs pop up. You will need to be a minimum of 21 years old for this role.


Dog Walker - Apply Here

Are you interested in dog walking? Can you spare an hour or so a week to take one of our canines out for a well-deserved walk to give them fresh air and a good exercise? Full training will be provided by our dedicated animal care team to give you advice on how to correctly walk a dog and the do’s and don’ts. Did we mention that spending some time with an awesome canine you’ll learn about their amazing personality? Not only will we appreciate you helping us out, but the dogs will be forever grateful too! Minimum age requirement for Dog Walker is 18 years old.


Driver - Apply Here

Occasionally we may need a driver to help out in our hour of need. Someone with flexibility who will be able to be called to help out on an adhoc basis would be ideal for this role. You must be 25 years old with a Full UK Driving license to be considered for this position.


Event Support - Apply Here

Events always make for a great time! We are in need of volunteers to help us at Events throughout the year and to spread the word! We have a vibrant team and always look for friendly faces & personalities to join us to create a great atmosphere. Could you fit in? Minimum age requirement of 16 years old. We will consider younger volunteers however they must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.


Fostering & Hand-rearing - Apply Here

Our fosterers are such vital life lines for us and the animals in our Centre. Throughout the summer months especially, we get an influx of kittens into the Centre which many of them will need hand-rearing for the first 8 weeks of their lives due to being orphaned. We are in need of Fosterers who can take in animals such as Dogs, Cats and Rabbits as some may need extra TLC due to injury or illness, or even just to get used to what a home should be like. Fosterers need to be dedicated, patient, caring and loving people who can give extra special care to animals in need. A minimum age requirement of 21 years old is needed to be able to apply for this role.


Home Visitor - Apply Here

Home visitors are such an important part of the adoption process and have such a vital part to play in an animal’s welfare. Home visitors are required to help our animals find their forever homes by conducting a house check to see if the family and home life is suitable for the animal they are wanting to adopt. We are looking for confident, friendly and approachable personalities who can help out and spare some time to visit potential homes for our animals! A minimum age requirement for a Home Visitor is 21 years old.
